GILROY—The Gilroy man who was killed Tuesday night when his SUV collided with a tree has been identified as 28-year-old Jack Edwin Adams, according to the Santa Clara County Coroner-Medical Examiner’s Office.
The cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and spine, a spokesperson said.
Adams was driving on the 6300 block of Miller Avenue in Gilroy shortly after 10 p.m., when the GMC Yukon he was driving smashed into a tree on the side of the road, Gilroy police said.
By the time authorities arrived, Adams was unresponsive and suffering from “major trauma,” GPD Sgt. Pedro Espinoza said.
Emergency medical personnel with the Gilroy Fire Department tried to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
