All five candidates running for City Council are scheduled to participate in a public forum on Oct. 4 at the Gilroy Public Library. Members of the public will have an opportunity to meet the candidates and ask them questions before the ballots are cast on Nov. 4—exactly one month after the event.
Two incumbents, Council Members Dion Bracco and Peter Leroe-Muñoz, will join three non-incumbent candidates on the ballot, including current Planning Commissioners Tom Fischer and Paul Kloecker and former council member Roland Velasco. Council Member Peter Arellano, whose seat expires in November, did not run for re-election.
The forum, sponsored by the League of Women Voters and the American Association of University Women, is set to take place between 1 and 3 p.m. in the Community Room on the second floor of the library, located at 350 W. Sixth St.
