Gilroy city council member Cat Tucker speaks during a special ceremony in December at City Hall after being sworn in for another two years.

City Council has scheduled a special meeting next week and the items on the agenda will be closed to the public, as they involve union contract negotiations.
Two of Gilroy’s four collective bargaining units, the Gilroy Police Officers Association and the IAFF Local 2805, representing firefighters, are set to privately meet with two negotiators employed by the City – City Administrator Tom Haglund and Human Resources Director LeeAnn McPhillips.
The GOPA and the IAFF Local 2805 will have separate conferences with City Council and the City’s negotiators to discuss “wages, benefits, hours and working conditions,” according to the agenda.
The special meeting is slated for Mar. 31 at 6 p.m. in council chambers at Gilroy City Hall, located at 7351 Rosanna St. View the agenda by clicking here.
