Gilroy Police responded to several different types of incidents, including stolen cars, petty theft and assaults. Here are a few events. 

Stolen car

A pearl colored 2002 Mitsubishi Galant with a license plate of 6CNY560 was reported stolen from resident parking on Spanish Oak Circle the night of Nov. 16 or the morning of Nov. 17. As of Monday afternoon, police had not located the stolen car. 

Petty theft, counterfeit cash

Sara Solorio, 20-year-old Gilroy transient, was arrested on Camino Arroyo after she was allegedly caught stealing $325 in electronics and paints from Wal Mart at 8:12 p.m. on Nov. 16. Solorio had an outstanding warrant and was also found to have a counterfeit $10 bill. She was arrested for the warrant, petty theft and for being in possession of counterfeit cash. She was taken to Santa Clara County Jail. 

Man in custody breaks window

A  Gilroy man, 20-year-old Tristan Theodis, was arrested  on a misdemeanor warrant and taken to custody at the Gilroy Police Department when he allegedly broke a window in his jail cell at 8:45 a.m. on Nov. 17 by etching it with a sharp object. Police report that he caused $1000 worth of damage to the window. The case has been forwarded to the District Attorney for review. 

Woman beats man with broomstick

A 45-year-old Gilroy woman, Erica Lubich-Genoni was arrested for assault after she allegedly whacked her husband several times with a broomstick in their home in the 7300 block of Wren Avenue at 2:35 p.m. on Nov. 17. She was taken to Santa Clara County Jail.
