Nelson smacks game-tying homer in Co-Rec C League
GILROY – DALEO rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to trim Team FX 20-19 in the second-half Co-Rec C League opener Tuesday at Gavilan Sports Park.
Kurt Nelson tied the score with a lead-off home run for DALEO. Crystal Williamms sliced a double to center, then scored on a Rich Furtado hit.
Furtado finished with a solo home run, two doubles and a single. Jose Melendrez homered and Kurt Gitmed went 3-for-3 for DALEO. Gilbert Ramirez muscled two home runs and Renee Mercer went 4-for-5 for Team FX.
Henry Maquinalez went 5-for-5 to spark Radiator Doctor past Dutchman’s-Big Kahunas 12-7. Maquinalez spanked a two-run single to cap a four-run uprising in the seventh for the Doctor. John Ceballos contributed three hits to the Radiator offense. Mark Logan went 3-for-4 for Dutchman’s-Big Kahunas.
Williams Dental Lab, the first-half Women’s B League champion, topped Handmade Healthcare 5-2 Tuesday at Las Animas Park.
Cherie Somavia lined a two-run single as Williams Dental pushed across five runs in the second inning. Handmade Healthcare countered with a two-run sixth, including a run-scoring single from Missy Howe.
Jenny Szyndrowski went 3-for-3 for Williams. Yvonne Gaspar went 3-for-3 for Handmade.
Melissa Taku cracked two home runs and Kathy Van Hoy added one to lead Don’s Vending to an 18-5 decision over Krazy Koyotes. Megan Myrick went 4-for-4 as Don’s, the first-half C titlist, improved to 7-1 for the season. Sissy Phillips and Joleen Carrasco each went 3-for-4 for Krazy Koyotes.
Gil Barry hit two home runs as B&T Farms opened the Men’s B League second half with a 13-10 decision over Lopez Vending Machines Tuesday at Christmas Hill Park.
Josh Garcia homered and Dennis Castro hit two doubles for the Farmers. Marshall Silva, Jess Lopez and Johnny Salgado each went 3-for-4 for Lopez Vending.
Alex Garcia hit two home runs and two doubles to highlight an 11-5 Bike Center-Data Mate Accounting win over Out 2 Bang. Lonnie Terrill helped the Bikers with three hits. Benji Casarez went 3-for-3 for Out 2 Bang.
Rich Medellin collected four hits to help Victoria’s Restaurant Banditos by Talamo Foods 18-15. Benny Sanchez hit a double and two singles, scoring three Victoria’s runs. Abel Jacquez and Steve Martinez each went 4-for-4 for Talamo Foods, the first-half B champion.
