Gilroy – Shelly DeJesus went 4-for-4 Wednesday as Handmade Healthcare opened the Women’s B League softball season with a 17-6 victory over Don’s Vending at Christmas Hill Park.

D.J. Simpson collected four hits and scored four runs, Rebecca Sanchez four hits and three runs for the Handmade offense. LeeAnn Christensen and Liz Talavera each blasted three hits for Don’s Vending.

Williams Dental Lab erased a 2-0 deficit in the second inning with an eight-run outburst on the way to a 14-2 decision over Dutchman’s Pizza.

Jenny Szyndrowski and Cherie Somavia each lined a two-run single for Williams Dental. Veronica Rodriguez and Connie Rodriguez each managed a run-producing hit for Dutchman’s.

Goldsmith Seeds struck for eight runs in the final inning to outlast M&M’s 18-14 in Women’s C League play Wednesday at Las Animas Park.

Antoinette Bowe clubbed a three-run home run and Emily Hernandez lined a two-run single in the final Goldsmith frame. Hernandez finished with four RBI and Norma Wendt went 2-for-2 for the winners. Laura Hagiperos and Shaleen Moreno each struck for three M&M’s hits.

Ana Cid Chrisman and Nicole Villarreal each drove in four runs to help Image and Design Salon-Guy’s Heating past Farmer’s Insurance 10-6.

Suzanne Lopez went 4-for-4 and Anita Garza went 3-for-4 for the Farmers..

The Energizers and Toby’s GIrls battled to a 14-14 tie after eight innings in the Women’s D opener Wednesday at Gavilan Sports Park.

Denise Chavez went 5-for-5 and scored the final Energizer run in the top of the eighth. Maureen Duggan homered in a 4-for-5 night for the Energizers. LeeAnn Blean homered in a 4-for-5 night for Toby’s Girls. Rene Rodgers roped a home run and two singles.

Katrina VIlla went 3-for-4 to spark Pacific Coast Bail Bonds by Kay’s Kids 11-8. Alicia Hernandez hit a three-run home run for Kay’s Kids.

Meanwhile, Feather Haven Mill opened the 2005 adult softball program Sunday afternoon with an 11-5 victory over California Chop Shop in Co-Rec B League play at Las Animas Park.

Jenny Szyndrowski went 3-for-3, Mike Leslie clubbed a three-run home run and RBI-single, and Cherie Somavia popped a two-run double for the Millers. K. C. Adams went 3-for-3 and Ed Gamboa and Liz Talavera each slapped three hits for the Chop Shop.

Chicks N’ Sticks opened the five-game series at Las Animas in the Gilroy Community Services Department program with a 7-2 nod over the Ball Hoggs.

Junior Gutierrez anchored the Sticks offense with two triples and a single, scoring three runs. Erick Jimenez added three hits to the winners’ offense. John Day and Tiffany Pellon drove in Ball Hogg runs.

South County Hammers opened the Co-Rec C League action with a 12-6 decision over the Ballers.

Paul Sanchez went 3-for-4 with two runs batted in for the Hammers. Cesar Lopez capped a six-run uprising in the Hammer seventh with a three-run home run. George Espinoza went 3-for-4, scored three runs and highlighted the strong outfield play for the Hammers in left field.

Caesar Ayala went 3-for-4, Jose Gallegos produced two hits and Debbie Cupp stroked an RBI-single for the Ballers.

Spirit of Morgan Hill trimmed Frame Your Family In Eyewear 10-3 in C play.

Rhonda and Ron Rutledge each went 2-for-3 at the top of the Spirit line-up to ignite the offense. Chris Putney went 2-for-2 and Shelly Guerrero drilled a two-run single for the winners. Luis Fumagalli singled and homered for the Eyewear.

Gilbert Ramirez homered and Tony Martinez went 4-for-4 to lift Team Hair FX past State Farm Insurance Big Kahunas. Rudi Groppe homered and Manny Rivera singled and doubled for the Kahunas.
