Gilroy –Williams Dental Lab defeated Kluck University 10-3 Tuesday at Christmas Hill Park to even the Women’s B League best 2-of-3 Championship Series at 1-1.
Williams erased a 2-1 deficit with six runs in the second inning, keyed by an RBI-single from Anna Reyes. Rose Martinez went 4-for-4 and Nina Mongiello produced two singles and a sacrifice fly for the winners. Antoinette Bowe slapped a run-scoring triple and Elena Townsend went 2-for-2 with a sacrifice fly for Kluck.
The final game of the series is scheduled for tonight at Christmas Hill at 7:40pm.
The Titans tamed Walton & Sons Masonry 6-5 Tuesday to square the Men’s E series at 1-1 at Las Animas Park. The deciding game is set for tonight at Christmas Hill at 6:30pm.
Vance Lee stroked a three-run home run and Jim Reimer added a solo shot as the Titans rushed to four runs in the first inning. Ian Hanley’s two-run single helped Walton & Sons to three runs in the first. Both clubs added two runs in the second before the final five innings produced no further scoring. Albert Vega singled and doubled for the losers.
Paul Bianchi crushed two home runs, a double and single as 2NQ defeated Tony’s Embroidery 25-8 Tuesday at Las Animas. The third game of the Men’s EE series is tonight at Las Animas at 7:40pm.
Ricky Krogen, Nick Magee and Russell Emeterio each scored four 2NQ runs. Jerry Johnston went 3-for-3 with three RBI for Tony’s.
Goldsmith opened the Women’s C series with a 9-4 win over Image & Design Salon & Day Spa-Guy’s Heating Tuesday at Las Animas.
Trailing 4-1 after five innings, Goldsmith struck with a two-run home run in the sixth from Malina Contreras. Contreras added a three-run homer in the seventh as the Seeds pushed across six runs.
Grace Gonzalez went 3-for-3 and Ana Chrisman scored two runs for Image-Guy’s.
Gamers In Control turned back Pizza N’ Stuff 9-5 Monday at Las Animas Park to even the Men’s D League Championship Series at 1-1.
The Gamers and the Pizzamen play Thursday at 6:30pm at Las Animas for the season title.
Nathan Avila began the scoring with a deep home run to leftfield in the second inning. The Gamers added an unearned marker, then took a 3-0 edge in the third when Damian Haro singled and scored on a ground-out. The Gamers built a 7-0 cushion before Pizza N’ Stuff countered with two runs in the sixth and two in the seventh.
Los Gigantes opened the Men’s CC series with a 17-2 victory over the Platinum Roofing Slammers Monday at Las Animas.
Nick Franco, Isaiah Gonzalez and Kenny Hopf stroked home runs for Los Gigantes. Gonzalez went 4-for-4 and scored four runs. Joe Duran poked a run-scoring double and scored a run for the Slammers.
Five Star Motors began the Men’s CCC post-season with an 11-4 decision over the Cali Boys Monday at Christmas Hill Park.
The Motormen expanded a 5-3 lead by striking for six runs in the sixth inning. Chris Wong pulled a grand slam to rightfield to highlight the explosion. J.P. Perez managed a double and single for the winners. Adam Solis doubled and singled for the Cali Boys.
Out To Play grabbed a 1-0 lead in the Co-Rec C League series Monday at Christmas Hill with a 21-7 nod over the Big Kahunas.
Jose Melendrez Sr. powered five hits and scored five runs for Out To Play. Yvonne Rodriquez helped the Play caused with two doubles. Mark Logan went 2-for-4 and scored two Big Kahunas runs.
Keading Performance started the Men’s C series with a 26-16 win over DS Builders. Rich Perez tripled and homered, Edgar Pernada went 3-for-3 for Keading. Kurt Simmons went 6-for-6 with a home run for DS Builders.
