Developers to present plans for homes tonight
Gilroy – Developers behind a proposal to build nearly 7,000 housing units, a new road connecting highways 25 and 101 and new public safety facilities on 4,500 acres just south of Gilroy will present their plans tonight at a Morgan Hill meeting.
Representatives from DMB Associates will appear at the South County Joint Planning Advisory Committee to talk about and take comments from the public about their plans.
The meeting is set for 7pm, at Morgan Hill City Council Chambers, 17555 Peak Ave.
Community Advisory Committee meets tonight
Gilroy – The Community Advisory Committee is a group of parents, teachers and administrators who work with children of special needs.
On Thursday, April 13: Assessment: What Does it Mean? A panel of professionals from GUSD will talk about the assessment process
On Thursday, May 11: Learning Disabilities Simulation Parents Helping Parents will conduct a simulation on various different learning challenges.
Come learn what it feels like to have one of these learning differences, at Gilroy Unified School District Office, 7819 Arroyo Circle at 7pm.

Library helps you get ready for April 15
Gilroy – The library has free resources to help taxpayers get their paperwork in order for the April 17 filing deadline.
A wide variety of how-to books on tax preparation and financial planning strategies are available along with State and Federal tax forms.
The Electronic Library 24/7 provides quick links to Web sites with online tax code, rates, forms and information for both the Internal Revenue Service and the Franchise Tax Board.

MH wind symphony performs
Gilroy – On Sunday, April 30, at 2pm the Morgan Hill Wind Symphony presents, “A Young Person’s Guide to the Band” concert with selections that will bring out the youth in all of us at the Gilroy High School Auditorium, 750 W. 10th St.

AARP safe driving classes
Gilroy – The nations first and largest classroom refresher course for motorists 50 and older.
Participants will familiarize themselves with driver safety and new laws. Three-year DMV certificates will be awarded for discounts on auto insurance, upon completion of this one-day program.
No tests – course, class materials, and instructor are provided by AARP. There is a minimal DMV certificate fee.

FFA plant sale Saturday
Gilroy – The high school’s Future Farmers of America will stage its annual plant sale beginning at 7am Saturday in the parking lot of Straw Hat Pizza at 1053 First St.
The sale will end once all plants are gone, which is usually sometime between noon and 1pm. The money collected from the fundraiser will go toward scholarships for students interested in careers in agriculture and to help pay fees for leadership conferences.
