GILROY – The South Valley Symphony is bringing back the “British style” Pacific Brass Band to perform at the Gilroy High School theater on Saturday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are now on sale at Porcella’s Music and California Music Company in downtown Gilroy and Snappy Photo located at 785 First St. Tickets cost $12 for adults, $10 for seniors age 55 and up and $7 for students age 12 to 18. Bandmaster Gonzalo H. Viales C. and Associate Bandmaster Howard Miyata will lead the 35-member band. The repertoire of the band consists of traditional brass band music, as well as American folk songs, rags, marches and selections from musical theater. Details:

St. paddy’s dinner

GILROY – St. Joseph’s Family Center will be holding its annual St. Patrick’s Dinner on Saturday, March 15 at the St. Mary’s Auditorium, 11 First St. Appetizers and no-host cocktails will begin at 6 p.m., with dinner served at 7 p.m. Included in the evening’s activities will be a raffle, silent auction and entertainment. Tickets are a donation of $25 each and may be purchased at St. Joseph’s Family Center, 7950 Church St., Suite A. You may purchase raffle tickets for $1 each, or $10 for a book of 11. Swing your partner

SAN MARTIN – The San Martin Lions Club will hold a Pasta con Pesto Dinner and Country Dance on Friday, March 14. Dinner is from 5 to 8 p.m. Dancing is from 8 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $6 per adult and $3 per child. The San Martin Lions Club is located at 15415 Murphy Ave. Details: 683-4448.

Swim Clinic

GILROY – The Gilroy Gators Swim Team is holding its annual swim clinic and tryouts from 5 to 6 p.m., March 24 through 28 at the Gilroy High School pool. Swimmers must be between the ages of 5 and 18 and know how to swim. Registration is $20 and can be done at the pool office between 5 and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday until March 21. Details:

Donate for sober grad

GILROY – “Grad Nite,” a safe all-night lock-in for graduating seniors at Gilroy High School, is looking for donations and merchandise. GILROY – The Gavilan College Small Business Development Center is holding a workshop on March 11 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. for the small business owner who knows that bookkeeping is important for success, but is intimidated, confused or unskilled in keeping financial records.
