GILROY – This year’s winners of the Exchange Club of Gilroy’s annual Blue and Gold Awards were announced Wednesday.
Bob Kraemer received to Book of Golden Deeds Award. Public Safety Award recipients are:
• Gilroy Police Department – Officer Jeffrey Roccaforte
• Gilroy Fire Department – Captain Ed Bozzo
• Paid-Call Firefighter Mario Bena
• Santa Clara County Fire Department – Firefighter/paramedic Kathie Welch
• California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection – Captain Tim Main
• Santa Clara County Sheriff – Detective Sergeant Rose Mitre, and Detective Frank Lopez
• California Highway Patrol – Officer Chris Gallego
• Morgan Hill Police Department – Officer Shane Palsgrove
The Blue and Gold Awards are given by the Exchange Club for outstanding law enforcement officers and firefighters in the community.
AAUW spring meeting
GILROY – Graduates of accredited four-year colleges and universities (irrespective of gender) are invited to “Get to Know Gilroy’s AAUW” at their spring membership luncheon held Saturday, May 24, at 11:45 a.m. at Mama Mia’s Restaurant, 1360B First St. Cost is $13 per person.
