GILROY – Coyote Lake Park, located at 10840 Coyote Lake Road, will host a ‘Night Awareness Paddle’ from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, July 30. Play games, hear stories about the moon and explore nature under the stars as you paddle across the lake.
Must have a kayak or canoe, life jacket and glow stick. Reservations are required.

GILROY – Chitactac-Adams presents ‘The Ohlone Ways’ from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 31.
Discover how the native Ohlone people lived and used natural resources along Uvas Creek for their everyday needs. Participate in a guided tour with activities. The park is located at Watsonville and Burchell roads.

GILROY – Test your knowledge of book and author trivia with ‘Trivia Night’ at Barnes and Noble, 6825 Camino Arroyo, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 31.
Categories include children’s literature, classics, non-fiction, authors and book clubs from the new Trivial Pursuit Booklover’s Edition, exclusive to Barnes and Noble.
Scouts wanted for TV
GILROY – Are you a Girl Scout or a Boy Scout in Gilroy, Hollister or San Juan Bautista? Want to make your own TV show and earn a Scout Badge at the same time? Then join CMAP (Community Media Access Partnership) for ‘Scout Week at CMAP.’
Scouts ages 8 and up can earn merit badges. The fee of $100 includes 30 hours of workshops and activities, a Scout Week T-shirt, VHS copy of Scout Week Shows, daily lunch and an eight-week membership to CMAP. Space is limited to 20 scouts, and registration is first come, first serve.
Deadline to register is Aug. 4 at 5 p.m.
