Give and Receive
GILROY – Garlic City Coffee and Tea, 7501 Monterey St., is home to a donation barrel for the Salvation Army. Anyone who brings in nonperishable food or an unwrapped toy will receive a coupon for their next visit. Details: 842-4220.
MHSD teacher contract OK’d
MORGAN HILL – The contract between the Morgan Hill Federation of Teachers and the Morgan Hill School District that was ratified by teachers in a 154-13 vote Oct. 29 was unanimously approved last week by trustees.
The contract, the third year of the negotiated agreement 2000-03, did not include a pay increase, a cost of living (COLA) increase or a change in health benefits.
The three major issues of the contract negotiations were teacher transfers, the employee work year and mileage.
