Keep Property Valuable

GILROY – The City of Gilroy presents “Invest in Your Property and Obtain Prosperous Rewards,” a free workshop for landlords and property managers on Wednesday, April 28, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Senior Center, 7371 Hanna St.

The workshop – hosted by the Gilroy Police Department – will educate landlords on the responsibility of providing a safe, crime free property and the consequences of failing to do so, show how to effectively invest management time and provide community resources to enhance the quality of life in neighborhoods. Help a Child

GILROY – Child Advocates of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties is looking for volunteers to mentor and speak up for abused and neglected children/youth who have been placed in the foster care system. Christian Scholarship

GILROY – Christian Fine Arts Society is offering a $1,000 grand prize in a religious poetry contest. Free to everyone, there are 50 prizes in all. Poems may be written on any subject, using any style, as long as there is a spiritual inference.

Advertise on TV free

GILROY – Local television station Community Media Access Partnership (CMAP) will host their quarterly PSA Day from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, May 7.

This is a free service designed for creating general Public Service Announcements that have a long air-play lifetime for non-profit and government agencies in Gilroy, Hollister and San Juan Bautista.

The goal is to help those organizations get the word out about what they do or help deliver important community messages to viewers. PSA Day is not for specific events.

To sign-up for a 30-minute PSA Day production slot complete a registration form and turn it in by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 30. Registration forms are available at www.mycmap.org/products_services/psa_day.html. Appointments are first come, first served. Details: 846-4983 or www.mycmap.org.
