143905~Moving toward a model GATE program—It looks like
nothing but good news and common sense in the new gifted and
talented education strategy being adopted by the Gilroy Unified
School District.
OpenGATE could do nothing without the cooperation of the people at GUSD. We have been very fortunate to get some traction with the people at the district on some issues that have plagued the GATE program for years. Our model of cooperative engagement works because GUSD works at it too.
We don’t always see eye-to-eye, but OpenGATE has been very up-front about what it intends to do and how it intends to go about it, and GUSD has been very supportive of those goals.
GATE parents who want to help reform the GATE program in GUSD are encouraged to join us, and help move GATE forward in the coming years.
