Dear Editor:
This is a letter to all the fans and friends of a wonderful four-footed friend named “Easter” the donkey who lived at the pond on Miller Avenue in Gilroy. “Easter” was a friend to so many children, grandchildren, friends of friends, adults, and relatives of friends. I write this so it will not be a surprise to those who frequently visit her and do not find her there.
“Easter” left this life on thursday, April 22, 2002 – Earth Day! That’s a great anniversary to remember her … she loved her life at Miller Avenue and she brought so much joy to all who stopped to visit and talk with her.
People enjoyed stroking her long ears, listen to her brae, watch her nibble on a carrot or the back of their dogs shaggy hair, see her being taken for a walk down the road or being part of the Christmas pageant at the church, she was apart of our community…. “Easter” we will miss you!
