Gilroy – The Trujillo family celebrated the 90th birthday of Libby Trujillo, in Christmas Hill Park in late July.

Parade to Honor World Series Softball Team
Gilroy – The Gilroy girls Majors softball team took fifth place in the Little League Softball World Series in Portland, Ore. this week, and will be welcomed back home with a parade starting at 11am Saturday. The parade will take place between Seventh and Fourth streets on Monterey Road, culminating in a presentation for the team’s players and coaches in front of Pinnacle Bank Plaza. Friends, families and fans are encouraged to bring signs and balloons to show support for the girls’ incredible season.

The South County Democratic Club Meets
Gilroy – Join members of the South County Democratic Club for a day of food, friendship and education about local environmental issues at a fund-raiser from 11am to 3pm, Sunday, at San Martin Country Park, 13865 Monterey Road. They will be featuring speakers on the environment along with exhibits, and have invited the candidates for Gilroy City Council, the Gilroy School Board and Assembly District 27 to speak about their campaign.
Suggested donation is $20, children younger than 12 $5. They are asking that each member and or family attending bring a dessert.
Sons of Italy Annual Barbecue Sunday
Gilroy – The Sons of Italy, Gilroy Lodge, is holding its annual barbecue Sunday, at Christmas Hill Park.
Festivities begin at noon with appetizers followed by a barbecue at 1pm. Adults $15, children younger than 12 $7.50. Entertainment includes music, a raffle and pleasant company.

Brownell Students, Parents to Get Frosty

Hospice of the Valley Celebrates MemoriesÂ
San Jose – Hospice of the Valley hosts Celebrating Our Memories: Storytelling Through Photos an educational grief workshop which involves photo collage and journaling. New Location for Congregation Emeth
