Gilroy – Saint Louise Regional Hospital will have hundreds of flu shots available for high-risk children and adults Wednesday.
Eligible adults include: People over 50 years old, pregnant women, household contacts or out-of-home providers of care to infants younger than 6 months; nursing home or long-term care facility residents; and healthcare workers and emergency personnel.
Children 9 years of age, and adults 18 to 64 years old with chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, or cancer also are eligible to receive a flu shot.
The vaccine will be provided on a first come, first served basis to people who walk in to the hospitals’ administrative conference room, 9400 No Name Uno, between 9am and 5pm.
Those who want to receive a flu shot will need to bring their insurance cards. People with Medicare B as their primary insurance will not have to pay for the shot. Members or Secure Horizons or Aetna HMO’s also will have the bill sent directly to their provider.
