California Highway Patrol officers arrested a 15-year-old driver
on suspicion of felony drunken driving and another 49-year-old male
passenger
– believed to be the owner of a medical marijuana dispensary in
San Jose – with drug-related charges after an accident Friday
afternoon on the Pacheco Pass flyover, according to the CHP.
California Highway Patrol officers arrested a 15-year-old driver on suspicion of felony drunken driving and another 49-year-old male passenger – believed to be the owner of a medical marijuana dispensary in San Jose – with drug-related charges after an accident Friday afternoon on the Pacheco Pass flyover, according to the CHP.
The accident happened around 1:30 p.m. The 15-year-old, a San Jose resident, was driving a 2004 Lexus RX330 on eastbound Highway 156, on the flyover at Highway 152, when he drove onto the dirt shoulder and collided with a fence.
The juvenile driver, whose identity was not released, did not sustain any injuries but was transported to Saint Louis Regional Hospital for precautionary measures. The CHP arrested him on suspicion of felony driving under the influence and booked him into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall.
Officers also arrested the passenger, Steven T. Gonzales, also of San Jose, on suspicion of illegal possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and being under the influence of a controlled substance. Gonzales in the accident sustained two broken legs and was transported to Regional Medical Center of San Jose. The CHP is continuing the investigation.
CHP spokesman Officer Jaime Rios noted how investigators found several business cards stating the passenger, Gonzales, as the “account executive of HEMPFUSION” and also an owner of a medical marijuana dispensary in San Jose.
