The Gilroy man who was arrested for directing suspected illegal medical marijuana dispensaries in Gilroy, Morgan Hill and and San Jose is set to go to trial for a separate case in which he is accused of embezzling $1.6 million in a grand real estate scheme.Â
Goyoko “Batzi” Kuburovich will face trial Oct. 28 at 8:30 a.m.Â
The grand theft allegations Kuburovich faces are completely separate from suspicions of alleged money laundering and illegal pot sales associated with his now defunct MediLeaf business that held a location on First Street.
That case is moving forward also, under Deputy District Attorney Erica Engin. A plea hearing for those charges – conspiracy to distribute marijuana, transportation and distribution of marijuana, possession for sale and money laundering – is scheduled for Oct. 8 at 1:40 p.m.
Kubuvorich is not in custody.Â
