It was a pitcher’s dual during Thursday’s game at Monterey.
Matt Oxner was stellar on the bump, going went the distance for Gavilan. He while struck out five in the Rams’ 1-0 victory at Monterey Peninsula. Oxner allowed six hits and walked two. 
The Lobos’ thrower was just as good, but the Rams were able to capitalize on an error in the top of the 8th. Andrew Bueno reached on an error by the shortstop, which allowed Javier Garcia to cross the plate. 
Garcia was 1 for 3 with a double.
Gavilan (7-7 overall, 1-1 in conference) will host Canada College at 2 p.m. today.
