It was a little closer for the Gavilan women’s basketball team on Tuesday, but still not the result it wanted.
The Rams fell 82-63 to Yuba in Marysville, giving them an 0-2 record to start the season.
Gavilan kept things close at halftime, trailing the host by 39-30. But Yuba was able to break away in the second half, scoring 43 points to the Rams’ 33. 
Felicia Lee-Cardenas led Gavilan with 16 points in the game. She made four 3-pointers went 2 for 2 from the line and grabbed four rebounds. Natalia Armstrong scored 14 points, had five rebounds, two steals and assist. 
Gavilan will be back on the court at 5 p.m. Friday for its home opener against Feather River.
