Hail peppered the Gilroy area Wednesday morning as the region soaks in the midst of wet, wintry conditions that aren’t expected to end any time soon.

The hail even turned a local golf course’s practice greens white, said Barry Morgan of Eagle Ridge Golf Club.

“It didn’t do any damage, though,” Morgan said.

Morgan, who is from the Midwest, said driving to work in the hail “was kind of fun.”

He said the hail lasted for about 10 minutes.

Dari Silva, who works in sales at Gilroy Toyota, said the dealership’s cars luckily didn’t sustain any damage as of late Wednesday morning.

“So far, we’re good,” Silva said.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook at 9:22 a.m. for the Santa Clara Valley, projecting scattered showers, thunderstorms and the possibility of more hail.

Windy and rainy conditions are expected to lessen Thursday, but a new system likely will move in from the north Thursday night or early Friday, carrying more rain into the area through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
