The student athletes of Gilroy High School were recognized for their accomplishments during the 2012-2013 Athlete Associate Awards on Monday night.

The female Athlete of the Year awards were given to Samantha Una’Dia for her performance during the volleyball and track and field seasons as well as Megan Nebesnick for her accomplishments in wrestling and gymnastics. The male honor was awarded to Brendan Holler for his performances in football, basketball and baseball.

Noemi Rivera (cross country, track and field) and Thomas Cox (water polo, basketball and golf) took home the “Pursuing Victory with Honor” award, while Alexandra Kachakji (field hockey, swimming) and Ronnie Reed (baseball) were awarded the Paul Thompson Inspirational Athlete honor.

Taylor Slattery (soccer) and Enrique Villanueva (cross country, track and field) were given the Distinguished Athlete award.  The Scholar Athlete award went to Samantha Holder, who had a 4.26 GPA and Andrew Hathaway with a 4.22 GPA.
