A Gilroy woman suffered only minor injuries after her car rolled over several times on U.S. Highway 101 Sunday afternoon.
Kathleen Miller, 31, was driving her 1995 Ford Aspire southbound in the far left lane, south of Coyote Creek Gold Drive, just after 3pm, when her right rear tire blew out. According to the California Highway Patrol, Miller’s speed and an unsafe turning movement caused her car to spin to the left, hit a raised asphalt curb and roll over several times into the dirt center divider. The Ford Aspire came to rest on its roof.
Some passersby helped Miller from her car, and she was taken by ambulance to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, for treatment of abrasions and contusions.
Meanwhile, a San Jose bicyclist riding without a helmet suffered major head injuries after falling from his bike on Metcalf Road, north of Morgan Hill. Reyes Nicolas Raymundo, 26, was riding westbound on Metcalf, east of Monterey Road, when he rode off the right side of the road and went up an embankment, according to the CHP.
Raymundo’s Light-Speed bike broke in half and overturned, and he landed on the paved road, hitting his head. He was transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
