Passed away Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Santa Teresa Hospital, San Jose after a lengthy illness. Husband of Kathy Pritchett of Hollister, CA. Son of Louise Pritchett of Gilroy and the late Cliff Pritchett. Father of Doug Pritchett, Allison Pritchett, Chris Pritchett (Monica) all of Hollister. Grandfather of Chris Jr. & Jayden Pritchett. Brother of Mary, Robert, James, Pauline & Lorraine and the late JoJo. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. A native of Gilroy.
Visitation will begin 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 22, 2009, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Both at Habing Family Funeral Home. Graveside service 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 24, 2009 at St. Mary Cemetery, Gilroy.
Born in 1925 and raised in Watsonville, CA, Lloyd was the second of three children of Lloyd and Grace Smith, and was the fourth generation of his family to live in the Pajaro Valley.
Mary T. Valdivia passed away in Los Gatos at the age of 94. She was born in Mexico and came to Hollister in 1937 from the San Joaquin Valley. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Hollister native Holly Ruiz Davis passed away suddenly at the age of 44 years. Holly was a graduate of San Benito High School where she was very active in high school sports. Holly loved being a Mom; loved the out of doors-gardening, fishing, and taking long walks, writing poetry, and baking in her kitchen at home. Holly was a 28 year employee of the Hollister A & W Restaurant where she was known for her wonderful smile and her big blue eyes. Most recently she worked as a tile setter and was recognized for her attention to details. Her family said Holly "was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, and a friend to those she met. She never met a person she didn't have compassion for or that she was not willing to help if help was needed," said her family. Holly is the daughter of Donna Wharton Starritt and the late Bob Starritt. She is survived by her children Royce Ruiz (Deanna) of So. Carolina, Julie N. Ruiz and Ryan N. Ruiz of Hollister; her step grandchildren Mark, Ruby, Tony, Natalie, and Destiny; her sisters Kathy Starritt of Texas, Sandy Green (John) of Los Osos, and Stacee Hilliard (Kevin) of Modesto; her brother Robert Starritt II (Nilia) of Washington, numerous other family members, and former spouses Ray Ruiz and Joe Davis. A celebration of Holly's life with a "pot luck" to follow will be held Friday, Sept. 26th at 11:00 A.M. at the Family Park 4000 San Felipe Rd., Hollister. Thomas F. Young, 92, long-time Salinas resident went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, July 7, 2011. He was born on February 26, 1919, in Gilroy, CA; the youngest son of Fook Lee Young and Lee Suey Young, pioneer farmers in the Santa Clara Valley, who settled in the Gilroy area in the late 1800's.
Age 77, passed away peacefully. Survived by her sister, Loretta Baliaris; three children, Aaron, Cheryle and Nadine; and five grandchildren. Viewing July 5, 2009, 5:00-8:00 P.M., vigil service at 7:00 P.M., both at Johnson Funeral Home in Morgan Hill. Mass to be celebrated on July 6, 2009, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Cathrine Parish, Morgan Hill. Interment will be private.
Club affiliations include Military. Keith Badham passed away at the age of 83 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Payson, UT to Paul and Pauline (Johnson) Badham, and was a graduate of Payson High School. After his service in the Army Air Corps, Keith attended the University of Utah, earning a degree in Science and Biology.
