The founders of Gilroy Prep School will present their proposal to open their school at Thursday evening’s school board meeting, which will be held 7 p.m. at the school district office, 7810 Arroyo Circle. They plan to submit their charter school petition at either the Sept. 2 or Sept. 16 board meetings. The petition is in the final stages of development and review.

The founders hope to open Gilroy Prep in August 2011, pending approval of the school board, with about 120 kindergarten through second grade students and eventually expand their school through the eighth grade.
