Dear Editor,
Congratulations to all the winners and those who ran for the Gilroy City Council. Bob Dillon, your thoughtful leadership will certainly be missed!
I guess the voters decided Tuesday night that it was time for Gilroy to get a physical. Electing Dr. Peter Arellano to a second term following his two-year hiatus from the City Council is proof positive that many Gilroy voters are suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, or at the very least a severe case of amnesia. People must have forgotten the good doctor’s way of wasting the councils time while he tried in vain to get his point of view across. He was able to circle an idea, but he was never able to grab it.
My favorite move made by Dr. Arellano was to improve Gilroy’s downtown by voting to allow a medical clinic to set up shop in the middle of a struggling retail district. The fact that he voted to approve this move was not surprising, will he someday have an office there? Well Gilroy, get ready to … turn your head to the right and cough.
The next few years at City Hall will be memorable!
