Michelle Shields posted two Central Coast Section qualifying
times and freshman Anna Brolin recorded one of her own as the
Gilroy High girls swim team defeated Alvarez 105-71 on Thursday in
Salinas.
Michelle Shields posted two Central Coast Section qualifying times and freshman Anna Brolin recorded one of her own as the Gilroy High girls swim team defeated Alvarez 105-71 on Thursday in Salinas.
Shields timed a 25.58 second 50-meter freestyle and Brolin a 25.75 as the duo went one-two, respectively, in the event. Shields also qualified in the 100 free with a 56.73.
The 200 medley relay team of Cristina Collett, Kimberly Davis, Shields and Brolin, also posted a CCS qualifying time of one minute and 58.39 seconds.
In other results, Collett finished first in the 200 free (2:09.62), Brittney Malick took first in the 200 individual medley (2:27.84) and in the 100 butterfly (1:09.59), Davis touched in for the top spot in the 500 free (5:46.74) and the 100 backstroke (1:09.30) and Brolin placed first in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:13.12.
