a convincing 6-1 home victory over North Salinas last Thursday at
Gilroy High.

GILROY – The Lady Mustang tennis team won its third straight match with a convincing 6-1 home victory over North Salinas last Thursday at Gilroy High.

Gilroy swept doubles play with the No. 1 duo of Catherine Wilson and Mindy Marques defeating Rozel Mislang and Tracey Flores, 6-2, 6-2; the No. 2 tandem of Kayla Aldridge and Amy Thomas beating Monique Ramos and Julie Dvong, 6-1, 6-1; and the No. 3 pairing of Jackie Morales and Tasha LoPorto topping Lissa Prudencio and Jessa Elgar, 6-2, 7-5.

In singles action, No. 2 Valerie Huang and No. 3 Megan Leuchars both came out on top, while No. 1 Alicia Shurley and No. 4 Dayrel Wilson both lost tough matches.

Up next, the Lady Mustangs (3-6 in TCAL) travel to rival Live Oak for a Tuesday 3:30 p.m. match-up.
