Make sure to use a pitching wedge off of hard-pan lies

Let’s start with distance from the ball. Every club should be played with your hands, or the end of the club, the same distance from your left thigh (right thigh if you’re left-handed). Generally, this should be about four inches. This way, when you swing your arms through the hitting area, it will be in the same position no matter if you’re using a 9-iron or driver.

Also, flex your knees to the point that your knee caps are touching the fabric inside your pants. Any more flex puts too much pressure on your legs and makes it hard to transfer your weight.

Now, bend over at the waist with your rear out slightly. This should put your spine in the correct angle to make a good backswing and downswing.

If you’re not sure about all of this, look at pictures in a golf magazine and then stand in front of a full-length mirror.

You could also copy the posture of a great player who is built similar to you.
