victory over Krazy Koyotes-Dutchman’s Pizza by scoring twice in the
bottom of the seventh inning at Las Animas Park.
GILROY – The Las Animas Sweepers pulled out an 18-17 Men’s CC League victory over Krazy Koyotes-Dutchman’s Pizza by scoring twice in the bottom of the seventh inning at Las Animas Park.
A Fernando Fernandez single, a walk and an error set up Donnie Gooding’s game-winning single with two out in the Sweeper seventh. The rally left Las Animas atop the four-team circuit with a 3-1 mark.
Gooding finished with five RBI, including a two-run home run in a five-run first frame. Wayne Pfeffer went 5-for-5 and Emiliano Arde lined a home run for the winners. Mike Hernandez, Don Hufnagel and Raul Toledo each hit a three-run home run for the losers.
Guy’s Heating outlasted the VFW Vets 20-14 to leave both teams at 2-2. Guy’s scored 11 runs in the final inning to erase a 13-9 deficit. John Muro poked a single and three-run homer in the explosion and Anthony Hernandez hit two singles. Hernandez, Marco Delgado and Rodney Clore each homered for Guy’s Heating. Daniel Montenegro, Chris Hernandez and Mike Gonzalez each mustered three hits for VFW Vets.
AJ’s Boys took a one-game lead in the Men’s CCC League pennant chase Monday at Christmas Hill Park with a 15-2 nod over the Desperados.
Johnny Perez beagna 4-for-4 night with a two-run triple in the first inning as AJ’s took a 3-2 lead. Gary Perry homered and Mike Sandoval logged a single and two triples for the Boys. Bob Stuve went 2-for-3 for the Desperados.
Kris Ferguson hit a double and two singles to propel Countryside Preschool past Los Gatos Capital 19-13. Louie Aguayo went 3-for-3 with a sacrifice fly. Jeff Duarte went 4-for-5 for Los Gatos Capital.
J.R Brewski’s improved to 3-0 atop the Men’s E League Monday at Gavilan Sports Park with a 10-7 decision over the Titans. Chris Hoiberg went 4-for-4 and John Weberg launched a single and two doubles for the Brew Crew. Johnny Ramirez homered and Ted Pickrel went 3-for-4 for the Titans.
The Slammers snapped a three-game losing streak with a 12-10 defeat of the Good Ole Boys. Joseph Sanchez and Joe Duran provided home runs and Val Casillas powered a double and two singles for the Slammers. Tadd Whitmire went 3-for-3 for the Boys.
Ray Garcia hit two homers to lift 3-1 Pray For Rain by Ozzie’s Oddballs 16-1. Juaquin Zamarron singled and doubled for the Oddballs.
