No structural damage and no injuries were reported in the blaze that burned about “two or three acres,” according to Calfire spokesman Jim Crawford.

“They’ve got a pretty good handle on it,” Crawford said.

Calfire was dispatched to the fire about 4:30 p.m. Monday. Two air tankers, a helicopter, eight Calfire engines and two dozers were called to the fire shortly after it started, but Crawford said within a few minutes all the equipment was canceled except for four of the engines.

The fire took place just south of the intersection of U.S. 101 and Coyote Creek Golf Drive, on the east side of the freeway, Crawford said.

Also responding to the fire were the San Jose Fire Department and Santa Clara County Fire.
