Gunder Oliver Berge died May 28, 2003, at Hazel Hawkins Hospital
in Hollister at the age of 74 years.
Gunder Oliver Berge died May 28, 2003, at Hazel Hawkins Hospital in Hollister at the age of 74 years.

He was born in Oakland and worked many years as a railroad clerk for Southern Pacific Railroad. He married his wife, Helen, in 1966 in Reno, and served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army and U.S. Marines after WWII and during the Korean conflict. He loved time with his grandchildren and enjoyed traveling within the Thousand Trails organization.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Berge of Vacaville and Hollister; children Tish Berge of Hollister, Myra Pierce of Vacaville and Andrew Gregory of Clayton; sister Helen Berge; and seven grandchildren.

Arrangements and cremation are through Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home and Gavilan Hills Crematory.

Internment will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
