A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Alum Rock Chrisitan (Baptist) Church, 2962 Story Road San Jose, Ca 95127, for Hilda Fernandez Paxton, who died Aug. 17 at age 83.
Hilda Fernandez De Leon was born June 3, 1925, in Manapla, Negros Occidental, Philippines. She immigrated to San Jose, CA, in 1956. She received a Master’s degree from San Jose State College and was a child development coordinator and director for Gavilan Junior College in Gilroy, CA. She moved to Vancouver in 2006. In 1956, she married Charles E. Paxton; he died in 1990.
Survivors include her daughter, Contessa Timmerman; sons, Chuck and Gene; sisters, Coronacion “Oning” Canson and Consolacion “Sonie” Brillo; and four grandchildren.
