Albertsons closing 37 California stores

Hollister – Fear not, Albertsons shoppers. The supermarket’s Hollister location is not among the 37 California stores slated for shut down, according to Hollister Albertsons Manager Jose Valles.
The announcement that 100 stores in five states will be closed came days after Northern California Albertsons stores were purchased by Cerberus Capital Management, a private equity firm.
Hollister’s Albertsons won’t be affected by the acquisition earlier this month, Valles said.
“People can still count on us being here,” he said Thursday.
While Hollister’s store will stay open, 12 Santa Clara County stores will be closed, according to the company, though it was unknown at press time whether Morgan Hill’s store would close.
The company also plans to close 30 stores in Texas, 16 in Colorado, nine in Arizona and eight in Florida, all by early August.
