Gilroy – Santa Clara County Sheriff officials said they are “hot on the trail” of the suspects who killed a Stockton man whose remains were discovered in the hills west of Gilroy. Walter Wade White, 50, was found July 28, but it took nearly two weeks to identify his body because of difficulty locating his relatives, Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Deputy Serg Palanov said.

And, while the ongoing homicide investigation has brought deputies “hot on the trail” of the suspects, Sgt. Dalia Rodriguez said, she was unable to provide further information about the case because they did not want to tip off possible suspects.

Rodriguez did say she hoped to have an arrest in a few days.

White’s remains were found by loggers working in the hills off of Hecker Pass Highway who flagged down a Santa Clara County Sheriff deputy to report a possible dead body between the Sprig Lake turnout and Mount Madonna County Park.
