DEAR EDITOR:
In response to Mora and Tony Taormino, Kevin Heath, and especially Mark Manuel:
I never said all homosexuals were pedophiles or that they all committed bestiality.
In fact, I never said that any were or did.
What I said was: homosexuals have the same civil rights as I do. No one has the right to marry “whomever he loves.”
In order to marry, both parties (and that is not all three parties, nor all four, but only both) must be of age, unmarried, of sound mind, unrelated to a specified degree, human, willing, and, oh, yes, of opposite genders.
There are huge reasons for maintaining marriage in its traditional form.
So because of this, my column is disgusting and I am probably a racist, according to the above mentioned letter writers. I am continually appalled at how such people seem unable to understand a logical argument, and how swiftly they resort to ad hominem attacks in lieu of reason.
And, Mr. Manuel? I did not use any analogies in my column.
