Jeanne Lawrence Conrotto, 70, died Sept. 8, 2003, at Memorial Hospital in Modesto following a brief illness.
Mrs. Conrotto lived in Gilroy during her teens and graduated from the high school here after which she attended the University of California. She was born in Framingham, Mass., on Jan. 29, 1933, and moved to Southern California while still a child.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Eugene L. Conrotto, a native of Gilroy. She was preceded in death, two years ago, by their son, Duane Lawrence Conrotto. She also leaves two granddaughters, Tjiska Elaine and Kimberly Clare Conrotto and her daughter-in-law, Karen Gerber Conrotto, all of Modesto; sisters, Mary Jane Evans, of Fresno, and Larree Adduddell, of Grand Junction, Colo.; sister-in-law, Trudie Conrotto, of Gilroy; and nieces and nephews, Patrick and Mitzi Evans, of Fresno, Michael Adduddell, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mark Adduddell and Michelle Mills, of Grand Junction, and Leslie Conrotto Thompkins, of Santa Clara.
Mrs. Conrotto is a former circulation manager for Desert Magazine and with her husband founded the Palm Desert Post. She served as chairperson of the Coachella Valley Cancer Society and president of the Cove Communities Coordinating Council. She was an events manager for the Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce and a past president of the Roosevelt School PTA.
An inurnment ceremony will be held at noon on Sept. 27 at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, 1000 First St., Gilroy under direction of Habing Family Funeral Home. The family asks that any remembrance be sent to the American Cancer Society, American Lung Society or the Salvation Army.
