Gilroy –Jus 2 Party clinched at least a tie for the second-half Men’s BB League title Friday by defeating Team Talamo Foods 23-8 at Las Animas Park.
Jus 2 Party, the first-half champion, moved to 4-1 by using two home runs from Gil Barry and three-run homers from Josh Garcia and Bobby Granados. Rich Rodriquez homered and scored four runs for the winners. Art Del Valle went 4-for-4, Bobby Garcia 3-for-3 for Team Talamo Foods.
DS Builders, the first-half C champion, remained in title contention at 3-2 with a 22-13 victory over Dee’z Nutz-Interstate Fence.
DS Builders erased a 13-8 deficit with a 14-run explosion in the sixth inning. Chris Thomas, Kurt Simmons and Henry Maquinalez each homered in the rally. Eric Tollison went 4-for-4 with a home run for the winners. Robert Sanchez hit two home runs, Eddie Gamboa one for Dee’z Nutz-Interstate Fence.
Los Pistoleros trimmed 2NQ 10-6 Friday at Christmas Hill park to remain tied for first place in Men’s D competition.
Lupe Lemus stroked a three-run home run as Los Pistoleros (4-1) pushed across four runs in the sixth inning. Robert Estrada collected a double and two singles for the winners. Dave Amorim went 3-for-4 for 2NQ, the first-half EE champion.
Pizza N’ Stuff also reached 4-1 by topping the VFW Vets 17-12.
Randy Evanger paced the Pizza offense with three doubles and a single. Duke Newton went 3-for-4 and scored three runs. Danny Melendez hit a three-run home run and a double for the VFW Vets.
Team Hair FX is 2-3 after a 21-10 decision over Dr. Tile.
Keith Francis and Mark Rodriguez each went 5-for-5 and Tony Martinez went 4-for-4 for Team Hair FX. Dave Keim Jr. went 3-for-3 and Isaac Agaliotis poked a two-run triple for Dr. Tile.
The Icy Hots moved into a tie for first place at 4-1 with the Big Kahunas by edging South County Rockery 4-2 Sunday at Las Animas Park in Co-Rec C play.
Tim Adams provided a triple and single for the Icy Hots. Bridget Adams went 2-for-2, Richard Adams 2-for-3. Mike Lopez drove in one run and scored one for South County Rockery. Katrina Hernandez and Liza Lopez each went 2-for-3 for Rockery.
Willie Gamboa homered in a 4-for-4 effort as Chili’s outlasted Team Hair FX 13-12. Will Lawrence launched two home runs and Cody Wilson went 3-for-3 for Chili’s. Kenny Gordon went 3-for-3 with a home run, Gilbert Ramirez went 3-for-3 and Tony Martinez scored three runs for Team Hair FX.
