Women’s C

Gilroy – – Kay’s Kids captured the Women’s C League’s Championship Series in two games, earning the clincher Friday at Las Animas Park with a 23-10 victory over Image & Design Salon & Day Spa-Guy’s Heating.

Eva Neibel lashed a double and three singles, driving in four runs as Kay’s completed the best 2-of-3 series. Stephanie Regalado added a double and three singles, plating three Kay’s Kids runs. Denae Tomasovitch went 4-for-5 and scored four Kay’s Kids runs. Marie Lucio scored four runs and Valerie Logan came off the bench to provide three hits and score three runs.

Nancy McDonald and Chrissy Ivory each stroked three hits for Image-Guy’s. McDonald, along with her family, was presented the 2006 Ray Heredia Award prior to the contest. Ivory is McDonald’s granddaughter.

men’s CCC

Blackout Window Tinting powered past the Hit Men 18-3 in Men’s CCC League play Friday at Las Animas to leave the series squared at 1-1. The third game of the series is set for 6:30pm on Wednesday Aug. 16 at Las Animas.

Danny Rubio went 4-for-4 and Gabe Corral slapped a two-run home run and two-run triple for Blackout. Anthony Corral went 3-for-3 and Gary Barboa scored three runs for the Tinters. Ernie Badillo went 2-for-2 and scored one Hit Men run.

Women’s D

South Valley Plumbing-Elam Trucking opened the Men’s D series with a 15-8 nod over Rosso’s Rebels Friday at Christmas Hill Park.

Markus Medina, Jordan Newton and Darren Newton each logged four hits for the Plumbers-Truckers.

Miguel Garcia went 4-for-4 and Taylor Hernandez and Adrian Ponce each secured three hits for Rosso’s Rebels.

Co-Rec D

South County Rockery opened the Co-Rec D League Championship Series with a 9-6 victory over Team Hair FX Friday at Christmas Hill.

Raul Gracia and Rigo Benevidez each powered a double and two singles to spark the Rockery attack. Cesar Lopez scored twice for the winners. Marc Rodriguez went 3-for-3 and Eva Neibel singled and doubled for Team Hair FX. Tony Martinez scored twice for Team Hair FX.

Co-Rec E

Giacalone Electrical Services began the Co-Rec E series Friday at Las Animas with a 12-3 decision over the Radiator Doctor.

Giacalone grabbed a 6-0 lead in the third inning with a five-run outburst. Brett Fullington stroked a two-run double and Linda Figone lined an RBI-double in the Giacalone third. Barb Lemberger popped a two-run double and scored on a Fullington triple in a five-run sixth for the winners. Steve Lemberger and Jeremy Castro each added three hits to the Electrical offense. Anthony Lucio went 3-for-3 for Radiator Doctor.

Craig Avila Bail Bonds earned a forfeit win over Czar Construction in the Men’ BB series opener.
