IFBA World Featherweight Champ set for another fight in San
Jose.
SAN JOSE – Silicon Valley Sports & Entertainment (SVS&E) and Golden Boy Promotions announced Tuesday that Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank will return to HP Pavilion at San Jose on Thursday, March 20 at 7:30 p.m.

Featured on the opening night card will be NABO Welterweight Champion Jose Celaya (17-1-0, 6 KO’s). Also appearing on the card is reigning WIBF Americas Featherweight Champion, California Featherweight Champion, WIBA Intercontinental Jr. Lightweight Champion and IFBA World Featherweight Champion Kelsey Jeffries (17-7-0, 1 KO) of Gilroy, and San Jose’s own Ricardo Cortes (8-0-1, 6 KO’s). Fighters are subject to change.

Season tickets to Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank are on sale now by calling 999-5748. Individual tickets to Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank go on sale Monday, March 3 at 10 a.m. and will be available at the HP Pavilion Ticket Office, Ticketmaster Ticket Centers located in select Wherehouse Music stores, Tower Records and Ritmo Latino, online at ticketmaster.com, or charge by phone at 998-TIXS, (415) 421-TIXS or (510) 625-TIXS. We look to build on the success of last year’s series and to make 2003 even better.”

Four additional dates are scheduled for later in the year: May 22, July 10, September 25 and November 6. All cards are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Dates are subject to change.

“We are looking forward to having Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank present a mix of local professional up-and-coming boxers with talent from out of the area,” Loretta Lucero, Senior Marketing Manager for Miller Lite said. “Boxing fans at HP Pavilion will see five bouts per evening including a women’s bout, a headliner and more.”

Golden Boy Promotions, owned by six-time world boxing champion Oscar de la Hoya, has scheduled more than 30 fights throughout California in 2003 alone.
