Dear Editor,
My wife and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you
for allowing us to participate in the Garlic Festival this year. We
thoroughly enjoyed being there and our staff were very
enthusiastic, really enjoyed working at the festival and got into
the spirit of things despite the muscle soreness and stiffness in
places we never knew existed!
Dear Editor,
My wife and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing us to participate in the Garlic Festival this year. We thoroughly enjoyed being there and our staff were very enthusiastic, really enjoyed working at the festival and got into the spirit of things despite the muscle soreness and stiffness in places we never knew existed!
We are big believers in community support as some of you may already know, so this was a perfect stage for us.
Our staff enjoyed interacting not only with the volunteers but also our regulars as well new people that we came into contact with. Both my wife and myself believe that we should instill some values and make our staff better than we first start with them. Events such as these do bring out the best in us all. We have an opportunity to make impressions on the young adults who work for us and we strive to do our best as is the festival spirit, too, and to teach that giving back to the community is important.
To let you know how we fared over the weekend from a percentage perspective by day: We served 24 percent on Friday, 43 percent on Saturday and 33 percent on Sunday. If the actual attendance count is close to 140,000 then we saw 2 percent of attendees come through our booth!
At one point on Saturday, we served 300 customers in one hour!
While we were very nervous going into the event, we were also excited. The support we received from your office (Joann) was a key factor to us being successful. Without this help and support … well, we just dread to imagine! Kudos and best wishes to the festival committee, organizers and the volunteers that helped make this a successful event for the “newbies” like us.
Please keep up the great work you all do and, rest assured, that the herculean effort such as this does not go unnoticed. This is what makes Gilroy such a strong community and we are proud to be a part of the community and look forward to serving it in the years to come as well.
