Dear Editor,
After seeing the article in the Dispatch, I decided to take a ride to the Christopher Ranch to see what this “Totally Rockin’ Temple of BOOM-erang!” was all about. I remembered a friend of mine telling me about last summer’s show so I decided to ask her to come along. Immediately upon entering the warehouse theater we were blown away.
There was something to see and enjoy from the minute we walked through the doors. We were greeted at the box office and handed a beautiful full color program.
I had read about the elaborate set but upon entering the theater, I was really surprised to see how much work had gone into creating the Egyptian atmosphere. Every detail was well thought out. I overheard one audience member comment on how much there was to see. They weren’t sure whether to read the beautiful program or just sit back and look around at the set that totally surrounded them.
Once the show began, we knew we were in for a treat. The costumes were bright, cheery and well constructed. I could hardly believe this was a volunteer production. I have never seen such a professional children’s show.
When the actors broke out in song for the first number it was evident the musical talent was incredible.
Time after time, we found ourselves clapping along to the music and smiling fondly at the adorable younger children dressed in their gorgeous costumes.
The show offered a nice balance of music for both adults and children.
I would highly recommend everyone follow my lead and take a ride out to Christopher Ranch to see this terrific show. The $12 ticket price for a live show versus a movie ticket was well worth the money.
