Dear Editor,
On June 30, 2011, a revenue stream that was created two years ago expires. If this happens, an additional $12.5 billion dollars will have to be slashed from our schools, public safety, job development and health services. Economic growth and job creation will grind to a halt here in California, if this measure is not allowed to be placed on the June ballot in order for the people of this state to vote for the extension. We need two more votes in each; the Assembly and the Senate. This measure requires a 2/3 majority vote in both Houses because it is a revenue issue.
If you want to be able to held decide the fate of our great state, please stand up and be heard! I urge you to call the following lawmakers and urge them to vote to place the revenue extension measure on the ballot. This is so important.
– Sen. Sam Blakeslee (SD – 15) at (916) 651-4015
– Rep. Katcho Achadjian (AD – 33) at (916) 319-2033
– Sen. Anthony Cannella (SD – 12) at (916) 445-0773
– Rep. Bill Barryhill (AD – 26) at (916) 319-2026
We will not be voting for a new tax; this is simply to allow the state to continue a revenue stream already in place. We cannot and must not allow another $12.5 billion slip away from California’s budget! We need to save our schools, teachers, infrastructure upgrades, we need to save our state!
