Dear Editor,
Thanks for the article on the Gilroy Visitors Bureau. The job of the GVB is to promote Gilroy as a whole, which does includes its local businesses. For the Larson brothers to say that a few hats, key chains, and other miscellaneous items with the Gilroy logo will threaten sales of other retailers and is a bad thing for Gilroy businesses is an example of gross exaggeration and grand standing.
Jane Howard has worked tirelessly to promote Gilroy as well as grow the GVB and the businesses of Gilroy.
The move to the Outlets was a brilliant idea and one which Jane should be commended for.
If the Larson Brothers don’t like the way the GVB is being set up, there are many other places in town where they can showcase their products, although I don’t think any of them are offering the same great deal the GVB is offering. Perhaps they have forgotten the saying “don’t bite the hand that feeds you”?
For the City to waste any more time on this issue because two people don’t agree with it, is silly. Certainly, we have many more important issues we can be spending our time on.
Personally, I can’t wait to see our new Gilroy Visitors Bureau. Excellent job Ms. Howard!!! Thanks for your tireless dedication.
