California voters voted for self-sufficient high speed rail,
user-fees funded high speed rail.
Dear Editor,

California voters voted for self-sufficient high speed rail, user-fees funded high speed rail. The CAHSRA’s “plan” is contrary to the will of the voters. At present California’s taxpayers are paying CAHSRA’s consultants, employees and public relations gurus about $1 million per day. The money we’re tossing down this Black Hole could be spent on our schools, police, fire fighters, the pensions we owe our municipal employees today, the future pension obligations we promised

The CAHSRA’s “plan” is to get their “missing money” from the city, the county, the state, and the federal government. That’s like a homeless person going into one of Gilroy’s bars and telling the bartender to pour drinks for everyone, and put it on his credit card. Trouble is: he doesn’t have one. The one he has, he stole. He’s defrauding the bartender.

Would you pour the drinks?

Don’t be defrauded. It’s our money your pouring down the rat hole.

Joseph P. Thompson, Gilroy
