Paranoia strikes deep: ‘Get on the floor, we saw your foot x-rays’

Dear Editor,

Recently, an opinion against the health care initiative was published in The Dispatch. It said that a government database would be established to track and deny rights to citizens based on their government collected confidential health information.

It surprises me that The Dispatch would find this placement appropriate for that article. It originates from a gun rights group of the most extreme kind: You know, the ones that say, “trespassers will be shot and survivors will be shot again.”

These are not National Rifle Association members in the normal sense. These are the paranoids who sleep with a 10mm handgun under their pillows, praying that someone will come into their bedroom so they can kill them.

There is no such government health care database proposed in the health care bill.

If you read the verbiage quoted in that article carefully, there is no government plan for such a database, and no funding of any kind for such a multi-billion dollar effort. It states only that medical groups must buy a computer database of their choosing that meets certain standards of PRIVACY. Anyone who has ever dealt with such databases knows that trying to pull them together into one, is a programmer’s most horrible nightmare.

The California DMV tried that kind of computer database consolidation years ago, spent hundreds of millions of dollars, and failed again and again. These paranoids’ greatest fear is that they will be identified and tracked as they hide behind trees with assault rifles waiting for aliens, ghosts and government agents to attack their “America.”

If they looked to the left, they might discover a child chasing a butterfly. If they moved slightly to the right, they might rub shoulders with Osama bin Laden. These pathetic weirdos actually believe senators hide in secret rooms planning how to get them.

These crazies believe that anyone who works for the government is in a conspiracy to destroy every “real citizen” in the country. It’s like a brain injection of nasty chemicals is drilled into the heads of every teacher, firefighter, peace officer, city council member, senator, president and crossing guard.

Please consider this health care bill on what it really does, and ignore the “death panels,” the “kill grandma orders,” and “centralized government databases.” I’ll worry when 25 government agents pound down my front door demanding, “Get on the floor! We saw your foot x-rays!”
