South County gymnasts from Hollister and Gilroy started off
their USAG Junior Olympic competitive season with a strong showing
at Saturday’s High Tech Invitational in Rancho Cordova.
RANCHO CORDOVA – South County gymnasts from Hollister and Gilroy started off their USAG Junior Olympic competitive season with a strong showing at Saturday’s High Tech Invitational in Rancho Cordova.
Competing in the Class 6 (Older Age Group), 16-year old Kurtis Pedrazzi placed first on parallel bars, third on vault, fourth on rings, and fifth on high bar. Ten-year old Vanya Avilla placed fourth on floor, fifth on vault, and fifth on pommel.
Competing in the Class 7 (Middle Age Group), 9-year old Gabriel Hatcher placed second on floor, second on vault, third on rings, third on parallel bars, third on high bar, fifth on pommel, and finished third all-around (54.65). Ten-year old Kyle Brown placed second on parallel bars, fourth on rings, fourth on floor, fifth on high bar, and fifth on vault.
Competing in the Class 7 (Older Age Group), 11-year old Darren Coates placed fifth on pommel.
The boys all train at USA Sport Connection in Hollister and are looking forward to earning more medals at the upcoming Top Flight Invite on Jan. 18 in Fremont.
