Gilroy Mayor Al Pinheiro stopped by a local health care facility Tuesday to show support for its residents and staff during National Nursing Home Week.
Pinheiro visited Gilroy Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, located at 8170 Murray Avenue, where he joined residents for a barbecue lunch and delivered a proclamation honoring the special week.
He presented the proclamation to Marc Argabright, the center’s executive director, and Sara Benevento, the resident council president.
The week spotlights nursing home residents and staff and encourages all to celebrate those that make a positive difference in their lives every day, according to the American Health Care Association.
