22-year-old woman was allegedly advertising services on

Morgan Hill – A 22-year-old Morgan Hill woman advertising her services on the craigslist Web site, was arrested on suspicion of prostitution at a Morgan Hill hotel.

Jessica Bloomfeldt was cited and released after she was picked up at 11:40am Aug. 3, at the Quality Inn on Condit Road. She apparently made the room reservation after talking on the phone with officer David Ray, according to Morgan Hill Police Sgt. David Swing.

“What these officers did was to take a proactive step, helping to make sure we don’t have a prostitution problem in our hotels,” Swing said. “We want to discourage others from coming here to do their business.”

With the advent of sites such as craigslist, it is becoming increasingly common to find both male and female prostitutes advertising on the Internet … Morgan Hill does not have a prostitution problem, and that is exactly why officers are taking these steps, to take care of it before it becomes one,” Swing said.

After seeing Bloomfeldt’s advertisement, Ray called the phone number listed and set up an appointment to meet her at the Quality Inn. He and Detective Mindy Zen, accompanied by Swing and Detective Kevin Beilmann, arrived at the hotel at 11:40am and arrested Bloomfeldt.

Swing said Ray and Zen “regularly” check craigslist looking for prostitutes soliciting in Morgan Hill.

In April, MHPD officers arrested two San Jose women on charges related to prostitution. The women were arrested when officers served a search warrant at a tanning salon, Morgan Hill Tanning at 145 West Main Ave.

Zen and Ray have extensive experience in drug and gang enforcement and have participated in intensive training in these areas and work with other agencies dealing with these types of crimes.
